this restaurant has been in Dana Point since the 60s it's a Dana Point institution. It was open 24 seven including holidays but since they've had trouble keeping staffing, I think the hours are more restricted now it's definitely homestyle food nothing fancy, but good value for the money. all the movie posters on the walls and ceilings are fun. What a flashback! if you go during peak times it's going to be slow service because of their staffing, but please don't take it personally. Best Breakfast! Great coffee and big malts Relax and enjoy the music!

Don't believe the 3.1 rating. This place is a 5.0 in my book for a weekend brunch. Find a table by the multitude of windows, order a chocolate malt, and watch people walk by. Friendly staff. And most importantly, they give you the check so you can leave when you want. They won't hold you hostage.
Our favorite place for comfort food! From the eggs to the spaghetti, you can't go wrong with Harbor House Cafe. The portion sizes are huge(just look at that ham steak) and the menu is plentiful. The staff is very friendly, but they can be understaffed at times. Try the tuna melt the next time you're in the area
I love this place. It is a tradition to visit the Harbor House Cafe every time I visit Southern California. I always get the Bacon, Avocado and Cheese Omelette no matter what time it is. It never disappoints. So much food and fair prices. Very nice staff!
Came in with a group of high schooler post beach work out and was glad that we were able to find seating right away. It wasn't too busy when we came in and was able to pick where we could sit. Once seated, server was able to take our orders in a timely manner and was very polite. Food came out nice and warm. Portion was very decent. Although food wasn't anything out of ordinary I do appreciate the flavors and portion. I especially love the decor of movie posters everywhere. It def gave the retro diner beach coast vibe.
Thankfully, we disregarded the negative reviews. We two loved the vibe, our server Danielle and the simple food: Chili Cheese Fries for me and Ortega Burger w/Inion Rings for partner. Not healthy choices, but vacation food. Also a glass of Cab Sav, two glasses of Chardonnay and a big slice of Apple Pie to go. $62 out the door. We'd definitely come back to eat and see Danielle
Love this diner! Great service, awesome decor. Food isn't the best but I love that spinach and rice are options! You definitely can find something healthier or tastier on the menu. If you live the old school diner vibe, this is the place to visit!
